Social Networking and Web 2.0
Wow, it’s been a while since I blogged. Maybe because I have been focusing on the funding of the site for the past 3 months. No luck yet. Finally, though, some breakthrough. Not in the funding aspect, but in the data aspect. People are not understanding social networking and how prevalent it is becoming in today’s internet communities. It is what has made Facebook and MySpace the sites they are today. There are many more that are up and coming.
But I just read the attached article in Entrepreneur and let me emphasize that THIS is my site. Take a look for yourself. http://www.entrepreneur.com/webofthefuture/index.html
Social Networking is key to making a site successful. As I have been saying all along, people like personal things. Social Networking is personal. It allows users personally connect to this site (in my case Family Mappers). I know people appreciate that.  Social Networking and Web 2.0 is the next step for up and coming companies and websites.  Family Mappers will be an integral part of that once funding is in place.
